‘Chandrikotsav’ is nothing but a complete
story of a "NIGHT". The reunion with beloved is
described through the meeting of"MOON" to "NIGHT".
The various phases of reunion from "VIRAHA"
to "MILAN" has
been illustrated sequentially. The facts of the life have
been touched through very simple words. The beauty (Shringaar)
of a woman has been seen through the eyes of a man and the
personality (Paurushatav) of a man is admired by a woman. In
depth of love, the reproduction (Janan) is the ultimate of
their meeting. The birth of a child is seen through the dawn
of day and thus giving light to a new life. "Chandrikotsav"
is in eight parts i.e. "VIRAHA", "MILAN", "KATHAN", "SHRINGAAR","PAURUSH",
"VINAY", "PRANAY" AND "JANAN". There are 134
"Chhandas" having
eight lines each. The poet appears to have been highly
successful in narrating his sentiments and imaginations
beautifully in his very first presentation. |
